    IPhones.

And finally my last post of the day. IPhones. I hate IPhones. More specifically I hate IPhone users. Did you know when it first came out (yes folks the first gen that had the screen falling out issue) people down here (and by here I mean Trinidad) to appear like they had more money that the rest of us bought them at six grand a piece. Yep they bought a piece of junk, because at that time there was no way of actually using the phone in Trinidad.

Yanno what was even more annoying was them shoving the useless piece of junk in my face. Ok so maybe my phone wasn’t as advanced as theirs, but that just it I like my phone and I’d appreciate it if people would stop trying to shove their personal preferences on me.

    K.F.C Boycott.

The following is an e-mail I received some time ago and now got around to commenting upon.

    K.F.C. BOYCOTT
Over the past two years, we have been faced with a continuous escalation of food prices, but how much of it is justified?  Some businesses are taking advantage to maximize their profits and I believe one such company is KFC.

Let’s look at a breakdown.  A chicken can be divided into 9 parts;  2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 wings, 2 side breasts and one centre breast.  A medium chicken retails at the supermarket for around $35.  KFC literally buys truckloads of chicken daily so we can assume they would pay around $30 for the same size chicken. How much does KFC sell the same nine pieces of chicken for?  $78!   A PROFIT OF $48 PER CHICKEN!

What’s worse, a regular size soft drink sells for $5.  Pour out the ice and see just how much drink you getfor $5. just about half a cup.

The worst of it all – KFC sells a 400ml bottle of Blue Water for $4.50.  I made a call to Blue Water and they said a case of 400ml water sells for $34. that’s $1.41 per bottle.  KFC buys water by the truckload and would get it much cheaper.  THEY MAKE $3.00 – $3.25 PROFIT ON A SMALL BOTTLE OF WATER!

We work hard for our money and we are getting little value for our hard earned dollars.  We all need to call Prestige Holdings – the parent company of KFC at 623-2646 and tell them that if they do not show justification for their prices or reduce them… WE NOT BUYING!  It’s time we make a united stand on principles of fairness.  AS CONSUMERS WE HAVE THE POWER IN OUR OWN HANDS.  I urge you to consider this initiative and please forward this E-mail to everyone in your address book and encourage them to keep passing it along.

Alright so now that’s been said here’s my piece. I have noticed that the people who complain the most about KFC, buy the most. I’ve stood in line and observed on more than one occasion where a person (or persons) would behave in a loud and quite unmannerly fashion simply to beat the line. In response to this I have to say at least this much, Stay in the line and wait your godamned turn you stupid git. I mean do you really think that complaing that there is only one cashier but three registers is really going to do anything?  Or that yelling for the cooks to come serve you is a smart thing to do? You people have no regard for those around you and should be treated the way you treat others. The attitude where you cater to the ass so that the ass will leave you alone only encourages the behaviour.

Anyway with reguards to the rising food prices issue. Wait you mean food prices so high yet you can still afford KFC? Oh my.

I think you have missed the point about a) fast food and b) customer service!

How long do you expect to stand in line before you are served?

This post may explain why I think you have got things the wrong way around a bit:

    Say What You Mean.

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then, And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
‘Tomorrow’ I say! ‘I will call on Jim
Just to show that I’m thinking of him.’
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows. Around the corner, yet miles away, ‘Here’s a telegram sir,’ ‘Jim died today.’
And that’s what we get and deserve in the end. Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
Don’t be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you. Because when you decide that it is the right time it might
be too late. Seize the day. Never have regrets. And most importantly, stay close to your friends and family, for they have helped make you the person that you are today.

Is Facebook Going to be Shut Down?

Well folks lately there’s been some talk about Facebook being shutdown and so the gullible masses have risen in defense of the networking adiction. Which manifested as yet another facebook group, the point you ask? Why it’s a petition to save facebook. I received an invitation to said group yesterday. So I decided to google it to see if there was any merit to the claim. It seems that in July of 2007 (yes 2007! and they’re going strong there was some controversy as to whether Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg stole Connect U’s idea for the site. Well if you’d take a look at the this article it may just shed some light on and hopefully stop people from spamming my inbox (and other peoples) with save facebook group requests.

On a different note, Facebook is quite the moneymaker the odds are the site will never get shut down, well not anytime soon anyway. So yes it might shift ownership but quite frankly I don’t really care who owns it and if you’re honest, neither do you.
